Activities

In addition to formal Lodge meetings which are conducted in a business like fashion the Junior Lodges compete in a number of Competitions throughout the Year.

Some of these demand many hours of study and the Superintendents do an excellent job in this regard.

The Competitions are in Lecturing, Scripture, Football/Soccer, General Knowledge Quiz. Sponsorship is always sought to defray costs and to ensure the boys are rewarded for their time and effort.

In addition most Junior Counties hold an Annual Demonstration or Parade and on occasions visit our associates in England and Scotland with whom we have close contacts.

Church Services
These are held annually by each Junior County Lodge and in addition many Junior Lodges hold the service in their own locality. Many Junior Lodges also attend Church Services organised by their respective Senior Lodge.

Parades
Belfast Junior County traditionally holds their Annual Parade on Easter Tuesday. The other County Lodges hold their Parades towards the end of May/early June.

Quizzes
1) There is a Scripture Quiz held at District, County and Grand Lodge level. In addition to a theme from portions of the Bible the quiz also includes questions from the Junior Orangemans Catechism.

2) There is also a General Knowledge Quiz organized on an annual basis.

Both Quizzes are organized in the form of a Table Quiz.

Football
Every year lodges take part in both 5 a side and 11 a side football competitions, playing against other lodges.

Darts, Cross Country and Other Competitions
These competitions are run at local level to provide for the varied interests of the Junior members.
